Passing away of Alois Zopf, 1st President of the Austrian Archery Federation.
It is with great sadness that World Archery Europe was informed of the passing of Mr. Alois Zopf, founder and 1stPresident of the Austrian Archery Federation, at the age of 80.
He passed away on 31 August 2013 because of injuries from a car accident in which his wife died instantly. He was President of the Austrian Archery Federation for 22 years, from 1963 till 1985.
Mr. Zopf received the Silver Decoration on Honour of the Republic of Austria that rewards individuals’ personal achievement or service to the Republic of Austria.
