The European Quota Tournament for the Olympic Games in London was held on 25 May, during the European Championships in Amsterdam.
83 recurve men and 46 recurve women were standing on the shooting line determined upon gaining a ticket for London. The level of stress was very high and all the archers were followed with anxiety by their team mates and coaches, since a strong wind was influencing the shooting.
Only the first 3 archers of the final ranking could obtain an individual place per gender for the belonging countries.
The following countries won quota places for London Olympic Games: Netherlands, Israel and Moldova for recurve men. Germany, Spain and Sweden for recurve women.
The places (belonging to each NOC) were won by the following archers: Rich Van Den Oever (NED), Guy Matzkin (ISR), Dan Olaru (MDA), Iria Grandal (ESP), Christine Bjerendal (SWE) and Elena Richter (GER).
