World Archery Europe held its first Executive Board meeting of the new term in Antalya on 14-15 June 2026, during the finals of the Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 3.
WAE President Hakan Çakıroğlu (TUR), Vice Presidents Jörg Broekamp (GER) and Julien Megret (FRA), Board Members Hilda Gibson (GBR), Arnoud Strijbis (NED), Rifaat Chabouk (ESP), Viktoria Koval (UKR) attended in person, while Darko Uidl (CRO) and Maya Shalaby (SLO) attended online. World Archery Executive Board Member Abdullah Topaloğlu (TUR) and Secretary General Raul Calin (ESP) attended part of the meeting.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included:
- The new agenda of World Archery Europe was introduced to the members.
- Batuhan Yaşar (TUR) was appointed as Deputy Secretary General.
- Burak Kahyaoğlu (TUR) was appointed as Digital Assets Manager.
- Transfer of the Federation’s banking operations to Türkiye.
- Re-allocation options for competitions declined by the Italian Archery Federation.
- Current and potential sponsorship activities and partnership opportunities were discussed.
- Vice President Jörg Broekamp (GER) presented developments regarding the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF).
- World Archery Officials Siret Luik (EST) and Dominique Ohlmann (FRA) joined the meeting online and briefed the new Executive Board members on relations and communications between World Archery and the previous Executive Board.
- Liaisons and Committees were assigned to Executive Board Members.
- Regarding the minutes of the 20th Congress, the Youth and Development Committee requested publication of its report with updated information. The Executive Board reviewed and approved publication of the report.
