Mediterranean Games 2013 – Indiv. results

Recurve Individual finals concluded the Mediterranean Games held in Mersin (TUR).

In the women finals Guendalina Sartori won the gold medal. She defeated the Spanish Mirene Etxeberria Ferrer 7-3. On her way to final, she defeated in the quarter Nada Kamel (EGY) 7-3 and in semifinal her teammate Natalia Valeeva 7-3. For the bronze medal, Natalia Valeeva won the Turkish Begul Lokluoglu 6-5.

Also on the men’s podium, as the female, rose two Italians. The gold medal was won by the Spanish Antonio Fernandez, who was not intimidated by his opponent, Michele Frangilli (ITA), who is the Olympic team Champion 2012. In the final match the two archers were tied, but after the shoot off the victory went to Fernandez. In the bronze medal match, the Italian Alberto Zagami faced the Turkish Yagiz Yilmaz 6-4. In the semifinal, Zagami was defeated by Michele Frangilli 7-3.

65 archers, coming from 15 countries, took part (41men and 24 women) in the archery competition.
