The Italian Job at Euro Para-Archery Champs in Rome

It was for sure a hot week in Rome (ITA) at the European Para-Archery Championships 2022, not only for the very strong weather but also for the high level of the competition and most of the matches shot.

Italy was great not only for the entire organization but also on the shooting line, leading the final medal standings by nations with 14 medals (5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze) immediately followed by Turkiye (13 medals), third position for Great Britain (8 medals).

 

These are the new European Champions 2022:

Recurve Open: Eugene PATRU (ROM) and Elisabetta MIJNO (ITA)

Compound Open: Jere FORSBERG (FIN) and Phoebe PATERSON PINE (GBR)

W1 Open: David DRAHONINSKY (CZE) and Nil MISIR (TUR)

VI1: Ruben VANHOLLEBEKE (BEL)

VI2/3: Daniele PIRAN (ITA)

 

In MixedTeam:

Recurve Open: POLAND (Olszewska, Ciszek)

Compound Open: GREAT BRITAIN (Stretton, MacQueen)

W1: ITALY (Pellizzari, Tonon)

 

In Doubles:

Recurve Open: TURKIYE (Papagan, Savas) and ITALY (Mijno, Petrilli but without title)

Compound Open: ITALY (Bonacina, Cancelli) and TURKIYE (Cure, Yorulmaz)

W1: TURKIYE (Aydin, Hekimoglu) and TURKIYE (Danabas, Misir but without title)

 

The Championships was also valid as second leg of the 2022 European Para-Archery Cup Circuit, so now we know all the (4) finalists involved in the Finals to be held in Nottingham (GBR) next September, individuals and mixedteams.

 

In the meantime, the next event will be the European Youth Championships in Lilleshall (GBR), on August 15-20.
